Painting the Light – Catie Quezada: This camp explores how artists use light and color to create mood, depth, and movement in their work. Students will experiment with expressive techniques to capture different atmospheres. Inspired by both historical and contemporary painters, they’ll learn how color relationships influence emotion. Each project will encourage observation, creativity, and personal expression through paint. By the end of the week, students will have a collection of dynamic, light-filled paintings.
Assemblage and Collage – Kegan Hollis: Transforming found objects into bold artworks is a theme explored by artists like Robert Rauschenberg and Louise Nevelson. This camp encourages students to see the possibilities hidden in the ordinary, by breathing new life into discarded items.
